Audit Associate, Grant Thornton, Oman

Inspiration: I was inspired to join and become part of ACCA due to the truly global nature of the qualification and the fact that it opens doors to opportunities in various fields including advisory, audit, taxation and cost accounting. My journey has been good so far and I am progressing towards my ACCA membership. I would consider my highs to be the firm I am proud to be a part of (Grant Thornton Oman) which has provided an excellent learning environment for me as an ACCA affiliate and provided me with the kind of exposure that is vital for my career growth. 

ACCA Community: Currently, I engage with ACCA only through webinars. Although it would be great if ACCA holds events in Muscat. I am extremely delighted and proud to be a part of the ACCA community that has professionals from multiple backgrounds in the industry along with my peers. It is always great to learn from fellow community members and my peers who are a part of the ACCA community. Being part of ACCA has opened great opportunities for me especially enabling me to work for a great and respectable firm in Oman (Abu Timam Grant Thornton) and working with some of the best people I know from the ACCA community in Oman. Also the fact that ACCA provides its students, affiliates and members with benefit of pursuing further education such as a MSc in Professional Accountancy from the University of London

Appreciation: I’d like to give shout out and thank the teacher i first started my ACCA journey with Dr. Ikram Ul Haq (FCCA).

Any last words: I am currently pursuing my MSc in professional accountancy from the university of london and working towards gaining my ACCA membership and to anyone thinking of doing ACCA, trust me, ACCA will open a lot of doors for you.
