Lecturer / SQA Assessor, Stirling University of Ras Al Khaimah

Inspiration: I was inspired to join ACCA because it is a global qualification and internationally recognized. It is very reputable qualification globally. My inspiration to be part of ACCA was that it would help me to expertise on various fields such as accounting, Finance, Auditing, and so on. and it will help me to grow in my career.

ACCA Journey: Despite the fact that I topped in science stream during higher secondary education, I enrolled for an accounting course in Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) along with ACCA. Even though, it was challenging to deal with both the undergraduate degree and professional qualification, ACCA. Back then I was finding it difficult to understand a basic accounting term. But it didn’t let me down at all. Each time I felt difficulty, it made me explore more on the topic and enhanced the urge to learn better.

I was heavily driven by my dreams to be an ACCA qualified member, it took me to the finishing point at the age of 21 as an ACCA Affiliate. I have completed all the ACCA papers before graduating B. Com (Honours). The journey from an ACCA Student to an affiliate was a great achievement and turning point in my career. Being self-studied the ACCA and covered all the papers in the first attempt was a great achievement. Thanks to webinars arranged by ACCA.

I am a very proud ACCA Affiliate now pursuing my MSc in Professional accountancy with UoL. Soon after affiliation, I had a great opportunity to start my career as an ACCA Lecturer, ACCA showed varieties of opportunities for me. I practised ACCA as a client accountant in Nishe management consultancy while being the lecturer in a university. And now, the experience I gained as an ACCA lecturer paved the way for me to appoint as an SQA assessor in Stirling university of RAK.

ACCA Community: Being part of ACCA helped to pursue other courses and it eases the learning process by linking with prestigious universities such as the University of London. ACCA connects people to people and happy to be a part of a renowned professional body.

Special Mention: There are a lot of people who have supported me and influenced me throughout ACCA journey and my career. I thank my husband Mohammed Ramees, my parents, family and faculties on achieving the success. Special mention to my mentor Nasheeda CC, Founder of Nishe and Member of ACCA UAE Advisory Committee from whom I got knowledge in accounting practising as well as in my career.
